This page is to showcase the build process and progress. The project started on January 8, 2024 and by the end of June 2024 the first meter wall was installed and connected to the grid, the utility shed was built and the water system was in place and building #1 with the 2 units was completed.
Over the next month the swimming pool was started and completed
Then at the end of March 2025 construction began on buildings 2 and 3, with building 4 being started in July of 2025.
Following is a pictorial timeline of the progress that has been made.
Another thing of note is the pool. Our pool is finished and it feels very refreshing. It’s a salt-water pool where the salt is converted to chlorine via an electro-chemical process in a device called a chlorinator. This chlorine breaks the salt down into its chlorine components. The nice thing about this system, once the chemicals (PH, chlorine, salt ppm, etc.) are all balanced very little day to day maintenance is required. There is little to no chlorine smell.
And when you finish your swim rinsing off is optional as you don’t have residual chlorine left on your skin. The salt leaves you feeling silky and smooth. And an interesting bit of information – my skin doesn’t get as wrinkled for the length of time I stay in the pool as it does on other water systems.
The second to last photo is a photo of the pool from the 2nd floor of building 2 showing the tiles around the edges. The last photo is showing the skirting that is being applied around the base of the pool. This skirting is being constructed of palmetto sticks that are cleaned and oiled. The oiling is to prevent bugs from eating into it.
